Until early August we are hosting an exhibition of watercolours by Jim Blackwell. Jim lives near Abergavenny and uses watercolours as his favourite medium, although he is also skilled in pastels, charcoal and pencil.

A retired engineer, Jim now enjoys depicting the many facets of Welsh scenery – rivers, mountains and seashore – as well as using his skills on buildings and portraiture.

It is fitting that his work is being exhibited in The Tithe Barn as for 3 years he was the Project Manager on the refurbishment of the then empty building – he knows every nut and bolt!

Jim has exhibited locally and in France and is offering a commission on any painting purchased to the St Mary’s Priory Development Trust.

He can be contacted on jimbee0711@aol.com.

A springtime walk in woods above what locals call ‘Fiddler’s Elbow’ on the Abergavenny to Blaenavon road was the inspiration for this beautiful painting.
