Tudor Tailors at the Tithe Barn

A group of volunteers meets every Tuesday morning to make Tudor clothing which can then be used by schoolchildren visiting the Tithe Barn. Under the leadership of Rosemary Carter the group are now in their ninth year.
Rosemary explains the importance of the work by emphasising. “It is important for children to be able to feel what it might have been like to wear these costumes.”

Food Festival at St Mary’s Priory

We are pleased to be again hosting part of the Food Festival of on our site, see what the church is laying on as welcome also.
During the Festival Cream Teas will be available on the Vicarage Lawn.
The Holywell Community will host a series of prayer stations at St Mary’s, for example, a fruit tree to tie messages on, opportunity for giving thanks. At the display on the local food bank there will be a collection point where visitors can leave donations for those for who struggle financially to feed themselves.
A special ‘fast’ menu will be available at the Tithe Barn Food Hall on Saturday and Sunday. Fair Trade Tea and Coffee will be on sale- and a Fair Trade stand will open on the site for the Festival weekend.
The Exhibition and Tapestry will be open all weekend for visitors to see.
The inner Courtyard will again be transformed in to the Souk , where new traders will have their stalls, while Fish, Oysters and Champagne will be available in the outer courtyard.
