AFTER SCHOOL CLUB TO BE LAUNCHED

We’re thrilled to be able to launch our Friday After-School Club on November 6th. Designed to cater for the needs of all school-age children, we will offer a range of activities, and study support that will allow young people the opportunity to unwind at the end of a busy school week in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.

The club will run from 3.15 pm until 6.00 pm within the Tithe Barn and Priory Centre at St Mary’s Priory.

From the moment the young people arrive at St Mary’s, they will be looked after by members of the St Mary’s Community. All volunteers are fully DBS checked, and are experienced in working with young people. For our older members, there will be a quiet space for study; a chance to get that homework done before the weekend! For younger children we will provide activities and games, or the chance to relax and watch a suitable DVD.

We will also be able to offer a light meal in our Food Hall to tide them over until they get home. This could be freshly-made sandwiches, or soup, and a choice will always be available.

All in all, we aim to provide parents with a service that allows them to get home from work knowing that their children have been well looked after in caring, Christian environment.

Registering your child

There are only a limited number of places available at our Friday After-School Club, so we would encourage parents to sign up , as soon as possible. The Club will run from the first Friday after the half-term break (6th November 2015).   Registering includes a commitment to use the place for at least a full half-term, with the option to re-register before we offer places to others.

Cost

Inevitably, we are unable to provide this service without some cost to parents. However, we have tried to keep the costs as low as possible. In cases of genuine financial hardship we would ask that you contact us in confidence so we can see if we can help.

The following charges will apply from 1^st November 2015:

Basic Fee                                 £6.50 per child per day

Fee for St Mary’s Choir                                                               members                           £6.00 per child per day

Light meal supplement           £2.00
