Over 20 local artists and makers will be joined by St Mary’s Priory Choir, Abergavenny Borough Band, as well as warming mulled wine, cider, mince pies and other hot drinks. The beautiful setting of the courtyard will be home for  Made in Monmouthshire as it  aims to promote the creative talents of local makers and artist and their roles in keeping alive traditions that have shaped the landscape.

Welcoming this initiative Canon Mark Soady, Prior said,

In earlier times it would not be unusual for churches to host local  traders in their Nave to sell their wares, we are pleased to extend  Benedictine hospitality to traders in our own day to do the same.

Jan Thomas Chair of Made in Monmouthshire added:

Made in Monmouthshire are a cooperative of artists and makers living and working in Monmouthshire, who create unique, high quality products.
We are thrilled to be working in partnership with St Mary’s Priory Church community and being given the opportunity to display and sell our products in such a beautiful and historic venue in Abergavenny. We hope this is the beginning of a developing relationship well into the future.
